Hello there, just a quick post to show my little make inspired by Julie Ann Lee over on the PAPERARTSY BLOG.
I also made this for The Craft Room challenge, lookin back at the Twentieth century, which is why my mask shape is more elongated to represent the African Tribal masks and colours inspired by Picasso and his later cubism pictures. Also my David used to collect them so have seen a fair lot of them. I did a bit of Google and made sure I was on the right idea
I would also like to enter this into That's Crafty Challenge - anything goes.
and then Stampotique Designers challenge 137 - textured backgrounds
and then Stampotique Designers challenge 137 - textured backgrounds
Starting with a canvas board, I've used grunge paste through clarity stencil and on the edges and sanded back, then painted with Fresco Finish paints in snowflake as a base coat, then London Bus, zesty zing and Tango. When dry I've applied pebeo gold gilding wax. Then I've stamped sentiment from PaperArtsy hot picks 1104 using red staz on.
I made my mask from paper clay. I know it looks more alien like but hey I tried and it took me ages to do. When dried I painted using my fingers with fresco finish paints.
Around my mask is an abundance of leaves. These were made by using fresco paints scraped onto card, then stamped the map stamp from Hot Picks extra 01 Backgrounds in teal staz on and leaf punches to punch out the leaves.
So there we have it. I wanted something bright and bold to cheer up on the dull day. It even survived Katie knocking it on the floor, just. He did end up with a war wound Lol.
