It's all faux, journalling

Hello, I'm sharing a double art journal page inspired and following the tutorial given by Darcy on the PaperArtsy blog. It's all about using neutral colours and creating faux effects. It certainly was a challenge.

I've closely followed Darcy's steps, using stamps, paints, stencils and inks I have. Also I've gone with a more vintage theme using the IF I HAD WINGS stamp for my inspiration. Plus I've not got any Darcy stamps...yet. I think I spent more time choosing my stamps on this one. It took a while to complete doing it in stages, so with Darcy's handy breakdown I was able to do this with ease. My faux crunchy crackly paper effect and faux embossing effect didn't quite work out, used to much paint me thinks.
I really liked creating the faux tags and elements, and especially the paint resist, definitely learnt a lot and new ideas for further makes.
I've used a multitude of PaperArtsy stamps from different sets and minis, Fresco finish paints, staz on and archival inks.
Some news at bottom of post.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges;
PaperArtsy journalling with Darcy month 2
That's Crafty Challenge blog - inky antics
Crafty Cardmakers #111 mixed media challenge - slap it on
Stampotique Designers Challenge #140 - vintage

Recently, I've had some very exciting news, I'm now on The Craft Barn Design Team. This has put big smiles on my face and to be part of such a talented team is amazing.
Another couple of happy crafting moments, I was Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine Facebook Fan of the month and then I had the honour of being Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine's Subscriber of the month. So there we go. See you again soon.
Happy crafting
Luv Dawn
