Hiya, craft stamper magazine blog have been running a challenge called Take It, Make it. The challenge was to use the technique described in the March edition of their magazine. The technique was faux airbrushing, using an everyday piece of sponge and distress inks. This is a great technique to use as it doesn't require much equipment and produces great results. I did find though that when colouring larger areas in this way it took a bit of practise to get a really even finish as at times it looked patchy. I did enjoy it and will definitely be using this again.
Here is my first of two makes. This card is 8x8. I have used a Prima mask with Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Inks and sponged through. The sentiment is Indigo Blu stamp, a heart punched from flitter flakes on card and the little girl is Midge from Stampotique, who I've also faux airbrushed. I've torn around this panel then mounted onto my base card that has been faux airbrushed with faded jeans ink and I've gently sponged areas with flitter glue and added the flakes really scrubbing them away to get a patchy look. A final run around the edge with the faded jeans to finish.
