Here are the cards I have made for my group's monthly card swap. Butterflies is the theme and I just love anything with Butterflies on.
The all acetate card is the first I've ever made using acetate as a base, then I have used a Caught in Crystal Technique using liquid floor polish, acetate, alcohol inks and tissue paper. The flowers are done the same way but without the acetate acting as the front of the piece on which you would normally put your layers on. This worked really well, it was just something I thought I'd try, and hey presto, it worked...yey. For the pinky purple butterflies I simply stamped onto some normal acetate that had been coloured with alcohol inks. Then I heated then gently over my toaster. The heat is more gentle than a heat tool and it also gave a lovely shine to them as well as a gentle curved shape. The stamps I used are all Kanban
For my colourful butterfly I used Chocolate Baroque Stamps, Kaleidacolour Pastel inkpad and brayer. I splattered water on the background to soften the look and used Cracle Accents on the flowers. I liked the way that when they dried the leaves curled. Keep your swap cards coming in. All January's swaps and prizes were posted out yesterday. Please leave comments for your swap partners in the card swap chat forum.
