Hellooo, this is a challenge you don't want to miss. The challenge over on The Craft Barn Blog has begun. This is a monthly challenge that runs throughout the year. This year's challenge is to make a Calendar for 2016. You are given two prompts to include in your project each month. A colour and a subject. January is Aqua and Snowflakes. The Design Team are sharing ours to offer inspiration and ideas.
Due to technical issues it's a bit late in starting.
Also there are more chances to win this year at The Craft Barn blog. On the weeks when the calendar challenge isn't posted, there will be a weekly challenge where you can enter any creation based on the topic that the Design team are sharing that week. Click HERE for full details of both challenges and guidelines/help for how to you can make up your calendar.
My calendar is a pre made blank calendar that I bought years ago. It's a large one and my area to create on is 12x12.
I decorated the front quickly with some paints.
For my January calendar page, the prompts of Aqua and Snowflakes said to me, Frozen. You know, that Disney film with Elsa and Anna that has been so popular. Well it has been that in my household, with my little girl singing Let It Go for the past six months.
My main image comes from a kids Disney colouring pack. I coloured it in with Polychromo pencils. The background is where I got messy. Using a mix of acrylic paints and DecoArt Media misters in blues, purple, turquoise and lilac I created the main background.
Then I've used my new Imagination Crafts Sparkle stencil with a new pot of Dreamweaver white pearlescent embossing paste.(liking this very muchso) I masked off the branch part to give me the snowflakes.
I've embellished my page with some Snowflake die cuts, Spellbinders, painted with Fresco Finish paints in a couple shades of Aqua.
Then finished off with some clear gems.
I do hope you'll come over and join in. I've taken part in The Craft Barn ongoing challenges in the past before becoming a part of the Design Team and have enjoyed it every time, learning lots too.
