Hi there crafty friends, today sees the launch of challenge 2 at Imagination Crafts Challenges.
This month we would like to see your crafty creations on the theme of FLOWER POWER.
The prize for the winner is £40 to spend at Imagination Crafts. To be eligible to win you must use something from the wonderful products by Imagination Crafts, all other entries are eligible for our Top 3. We ask that you follow the blog and combine no more than 7 other challenges, full rules are on the challenge blog.
As promised I have a winner to announce from my Imagination Crafts midway post below.
The winner chosen at random is comment number 7 Craftyfield. Please email me at dawnlouiseh@googlemail.com
Now onto my design team sample. I've altered a wooden birdhouse hanging.Decorating both sides.
Imagination Crafts products used
Daisy Decoupage stamp set
Leaf Swirl stencil
Antique Bronze Sparkle Medium
Clear sparkle medium
Stencil paints mango and sunrise red
Other products used
Acrylic paints, brown, sand
Paper artsy crackle glaze, limelight, chocolate pudding fresco finish paints
Tim Holtz distress inks and pens
Woodware blossom multi punch
Leaf punch.
Bird stencil
Beadazzles
Glossy accents
Sand paper
For my birds I put the antique bronze sparkle medium through a simple bird shape onto a plastic sheet, left to dry peeled off and glued two back to back.
The flowers use the small daisy stamp, three layers each coloured, cut out, shaped and assembled then Beadazzles (which I always end up chasing around the table even with paper or tray underneath they just seem to jump around, well no me they do) glued in centre with glossy accents.
I mixed clear sparkle medium with green translucent paint and bit more glitter before applying through leaf stencil and around the edges.
Punched flowers from card painted with the stencil paints, these are so lovely to use and dry quickly too.
To make a perch I used a Crop A Dile and wooden skewer, held in place with glossy accents.
I really enjoyed making this. It has been an idea pondering around my head as I made the birds when I first received the Sparkle Medium from Imagination Crafts. I wanted to create a worn look to it but still keeping it light and fresh. As I intended it to be a present for my mum I also kept her in mind. She loved it.
It makes me feel like a little girl making something especially for mummy excited at the thought of presenting her with a present I'd made. Happy days. I do love my mum immensely.
Anyhow thanks for reading and visiting my blog today, please leave a comment, they make me smile and I look forward to popping by your blogs to see your Flower Power entries at Imagination Crafts Challenges.
Happy crafting
Luv dawn
