Red white n blue..tale to tell too

Hi crafty friends. Well the school holidays are in full swing as are the boys who are missing school already but Katie is loving having her brothers around.
A bit of a tale to tell too. On Thursday I went to deliver a card a dear friend had asked me to make for her daughter's birthday. So after tea off I set. Card delivered safely and a quick chat as wanted to be back for kids bedtime. Well that didn't happen. I'd been happy driving along the motorway chatting to Iggy as we sped along. Yes I talk to my car. It is an old thing 8 seater with character and if I don't chat to him he takes the huff and and chugs away. He even gives a little shake when you turn off the engine. Anyhow, gets to end of motorway, and I see a bit of steam or smoke coming from the front. No warning lights flashing though. So carries on around the roundabout and stops in boundary mill carpark. As I parked up and got out, I was in a massive cloud of steam. I tell ya it was a bit scary, but could hear it hissing so knew steam not smoke. Whilst onlookers enjoyed a show and laugh some did of me trying to un latch the bonnet and this smoke filling the car park, I realised I was a fair distance from home and no AA. So what did I do. Closed the bonnet and went craft shopping. My darling Iggy had chosen to break down in the right place. It was open late too. So off I went and indulged in a few bits and a gorgeous bag of buttons to feed my fetish oh and a craft magazine and a new pillow. Well if I was gonna be stuck a while at least I'd not be bored and be comfy too.
Only me eh?
Well Iggy had cooled off so had a serious talk and willed him to get me home. We set off, then the blooming warning lights decide to flash, so avoiding using the brakes as it made it worse, a game of cat n mouse on another roundabout, I made it home. I felt like I'd really achieved something I can tell ya. Well he's been in the garage and been fixed but still gettin too hot, maybe the male menopause. Ha ha.
Well onto a card. It is one I'd like to enter in a challenge over at Merly Impressions blog. The theme Red White n Blue. Have used Mabel Lucie attwell stamp and coloured with pro markers. And put my big rosette on too. I do like making these.
That's all for now.
Remember our challenge is still anything goes at DCC & Friends
