Altered Tag

Gosh I'm on a roll, my second post today. Lol. I'd seen some challenges that I wanted to enter and set about making this. Using a stamps away huge tag that I'd been given as a present from my crafty friend Jean, I set about getting crafty. It started out completely different, a red colour and covered in utee, but I wasn't happy and didn't want to throw it away. So using silver alcohol ink I coloured the whole tag and had another base to build on. The craft barn challenge was to use utee and mica fragments, which I don't have, so instead I used tiny bead-dazzles and Gilding flakes. I used a mixture of embossing powders and utee and encased them in this, only burnt two fingers along the way. When I was happy with it I stamped circles and dragged lines using silver acrylic paint and a lid. Then put more random lines in using black stazon ink.
Now to decorate the tag I didn't want to cover up lots of the gorgeous textured background I'd spent ages creating, so this is what I came up with.
Stamps I used are all from Indigoblu.
The flower is a wooden one covered with utee and stamped into and the black flower behind is some black recycled packaging edged with flakes topped with A button tied with curly wire. The bird cage is Tim Holtz die cut out of recycled biscuit packaging. I utee the bird and stamped into it again for a lovely pattern. Using
The same powders throughout to keep it in sync.
Then some stamping and some bling and polymer clay embellishments and wire to finish it all off.
I made the dangling embellishment to recreate the toys you get to hang in bird's cages.
It took a while and there was some experiment and trial and
error along the way, not everything I made for it made the final piece. I've taken pics the best I can but the light kept reflecting off the shiny s urface. I'm really pleased with all the texture on the background and playing really is fun. This project reflects my passion for creating with stamps and all the fabulous products you can combine with them.

Thanks for looking
Happy crafting
