Hellooo, I'd like to show a card I've made with a few challenges in mind. First I saw the kraftin Kimmie weekly challenge of spring then as if by magical coincide I read about letraset's competition on Facebook to create using only their limited edition spring pro markers. So the cogs starting turning and then along my blog visits saw some more challenges that I thought I could incorporate into my design. And here is the finished article.
The card is large at 8x8 inches
, which I love working with. Everything; from the stamped image to the ribbon, die cuts, paper doily, flowers, base card border is all coloured using this one set of lovely muted spring colours. Working with just one set did give me a challenge on the skin tone, but using two colours of budding rose and march hare and trial n error think I got it. By making sure I only used one layer of colour I achieved this skin tone, by adding and blending deepened the colour quite considerably deepens it so easy to get darker skin tones with just the two pens.
Spring wouldn't be spring to me without butterflies fluttering around, so I punched and coloured some and flittered around the card, doubling up on some to give more dimension to even out the balance of the flowers.
The flowers are done using spellbinders spiral blossom one and one full shape cut in half to get smaller versions. I then dabbed glue n seal on the edges and dipped them into creative expressions glass beads. Great texture and shine without it being too sparkly so it fits in more with the soft feel of the design.
Thanks for looking and I really do love seeing your comments. I'll be posting full details of the bumper prize giveaway for the May Card swap
Happy crafting
