Mono card and my lovely family

I made this card with the challenge in mind that I'd seen on touch twin markers. I knew straight away this Vilda stamp that I'd got from That Craft Place would do nicely. Going for a monochrome look as I wanted to further practice using just grey pro markers. For this image I used Ice greys 1-5 and cool greys 1-2 . I like to add colour around my whole image but didn't want it to blend it with the picture. So I used cool grey 1 and 2 and blender pen to do tiny dots all the way around. Two papers from DCWV stack adhered to a square card blank and a spellbinders border on the paper join finish the card. Now I did struggle with getting a decent photo of it, but I do hope you like it. I do hope I've offered some inspiration for you to go monochromatic, it can take a bit of planning sometimes but the results in my opinion always give a good end result. Do share your makes in the gallery on the website. I do enjoy lookin through as do others.
On a more personal note, today my Mum and Dad came and visited us. I do miss mum being so far away as we are very close. It makes seeing them both that extra special and we have so much to cram in, it's none stop. The boys enjoyed playing their new hobby of chess, with their Granddad and Katie thoroughly enjoyed playing play doh with Grandma. We all enjoyed treats too. And Katie's My Little Pony toy brought back happy memories. For the last few days all we've heard is 'is it today they're coming? ' from the boys. Mum and I fitted in plenty of crafty chat too and helped me send out the quick swap I hosted this past week. As they were leaving literally just setting off in the car, David came out as he'd been so busy doing chores and me n mum still gabbing all the way to the car that he'd not had the chance to say bye, mum got out the car, Dad stopped, literally in that order just so they could hug bye. It was like watching something out of a movie. Surreal. Maybe you had to be there to understand but think you get my gist. I'm missing them already, and the boys have asked grandma a few times 'when you comin again?' it's lovely for me as the children's mum to stand back and see all the love and interest we all have with each other. I can't wait to see them again, soon. There maybe little quiet in our household, and I wouldn't have it any other way. David may think differently lol. Thanks for reading my post and I'll be sharing some more cards this weekend. X
Happy crafting
Luv Dawn

  2. This image looks so good in monochrome, a very different effect from the coloured ones I've seen. Good luck in the challenge.
It's lovely to hear how much the children love their Grandparents - being a Nana myself. I'm glad you all had a lovely time x

  3. Yes I like it and it being monochrome it looks really good.
But your little story touched at my heart strings yet in a different way, I see it from a grandmother who see her own child grown up and given us two wonderful grandsons who have so much love for theire mum and us that sometimes I just want to bottle it and keep for when they arn't with us, they live one hour and a half drive away, I know it not much but when we all work it's hard to fit time in but we should all make time xx
