Good afternoon all, I'm sharing a card made for some extra inspiration for the challenge currently ongoing over at THAT CRAFT PLACE. the challenge anything but square or rectangle has certainly given me lots of ideas and has given me a gentle reminder about makin shaped cards, which I really like doing but seem to have forgotten about.
In my design I wanted to use different shapes within the whole card as well as the main base card. Here comes the spellbinders. Using four different sets and a sizzix die for the hearts did the job quite nicely I think.
The image coloured with distress inks and then a layer of clear embossing powder heated over the entire oval gives the picture a vintagey (my made up word there) feel as the clear embossing makes the white card translucent and gives a textured finish.
Using kraft card I used helped to give gentle vintagey feel, without overwhelming the design and kraft card seems to go with a plethora of colours and themes.
the flowers were orginally pink and I really wanted to use them so I coloured them with red pro marker, bent the wire stems up and twisted the wire around a pokey tool to give alook of tendrils.
Good luck with your entries.
