HAPPY NEW YEAR...I'd like to wish everyone a great 2012, may it bring you all you desire, and your dreams come true. Failing that, like me, Id be more than happy with a peaceful, joyful year.
On a crafty view, I've been experimenting and playing with two bottles of colorwash sprays that I was lucky enough to receive from a secret santa. thanks Sam M.
I made these tags and coloured kitchen roll too and a wetwipe. The background on one was heat embossed using kanban vivienne stamp dress pattern, and used it as a resist.
The only other medium I used was some gold eco green acrylic paint. I did try spraying the kitchen roll with a pva glue n water mix, hoping it would stick both plys together...it didn't but it did add some strength but also gave the piece a more crinkle effect.
Also another little thing was whilst heating the wetwipe with my heat gun, as usual the colour lightens, however I kept on heating and it changed parts to a darker colour and it also got rid of the teddy bear embossed pattern on the wipe.
My top tip....experiment, play. even with only a few things you can create something different eveytime.
Here's some coloured kitchen roll pieces and some finished tags. luv dawn wet wipe, the darker areas are over heating, and it wasn't burnt either. loved the effect
