I'm honoured to have won a guest design team spot for this month. Here's my take on the theme.
It's an 8x8 card. I really wanted to use these kanban stamps but with a different take on how I would normally use them. Yet still reflect a warm summer's day.
So out with the traditional colours and in with the pink. All the layers are made using distress stains and distress inks. For the kraft layer I recycled some brown paper that came wrapped around some beautiful tulips David bought me recently. I spread a layer of wet glue on some card and laid on some scrunched brown paper and wrinkled it up a little and sprayed with glimmer mists in latte. When dry I lightly rubbed over with tea dye distress stain.
For my main image I stamped and watercoloured the sea scene in different pinks on watercolour card. Painted on a layer of crackle accents then when dry rubbed over antique linen di and then heat embossed two layers of clear utee.
The flower is made up of the quarter compass stamp. Stamped multiple times, cut out, distressed, inked pleated then stuck on a circle in layers, then snipped into centre and folded it around on itself to give more dimension. I was just playing but I really liked this so will be doing it again.
I do hope you can come join in the challenge. Have fun creating and making.
Happy crafting
